OCTOBER 26, 2019, 12 – 7 PM | KARSTADT COURTYARD ON HERMANNPLATZ
A lively place where everyone is welcome – that is the vision for the new Karstadt on Hermannplatz. To understand the interests and needs of the residents and take them into account from the very beginning, SIGNA seeks direct dialogue. SIGNA opened this dialogue on October 26, 2019 with a public courtyard party at the HRMNNBOX in the inner courtyard of the Karstadt building. The HRMNNBOX is a place of exchange and constructive cooperation. At 1 pm, the round table discussion on the future of the Hermannplatz was started. SIGNA initiated the dialogue with concrete ideas and impulses: The HRMNNBOX, which is operated by Rixbox from Neukölln, a new bicycle road through the inner courtyard, a bicycle workshop and an urban gardening area are prototypes which SIGNA inaugurated and sought to test together with residents* from this day onwards. Innovative ideas are intended to create new, lively places with a higher quality of life.
PROGRAM
- 12 p.m. opening of HRMNNBOX (café and dialogue area, partner Rixbox from Neukölln)
- 1 p.m. Discussion on Future Hermannplatz (livable Hermannplatz, living, trade, mobility)
- Opening of the bicycle street, bicycle repair shop, covered bicycle parking, automatic bicycle washing facility
- New mobility to try out: Prototype ONO e-Cargo-Bike
- Urban Gardening to participate (Karuna Social Cooperative e.V.)
- Kiezmarkt
- Mural Painting Workshop Wandgemälde
- Various music acts from the neighbourhood (including Fujiama Night Club)
- Children’s program (tape art, make-up for children, etc.)
